Designing customizable card decks.
Brand identity, custom type, card styles and product design for MyCardDeck.
Custom decks from your own photos.
We wanted people to create a deck from their photos. I designed the brand, cards and product flow for it.
The user selects a style, layout, background and back cover.
The user reviews the deck and places the order.

Logo and type.

I constructed each letter and number vectorially, inspired by other typefaces but shaped into a voice of its own: playful, slightly medieval and a little magical.
abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz
0123456789Leilei / alphabet and numerals
Logo
I combined a card shape, the MC mark and decorative details for the identity.
Leilei type
I drew each letter and number as a vector, inspired by other typefaces.
Implementation
I turned the identity into card layouts, UI screens and front-end code.
Back cover options.
I designed multiple back covers so users can choose the one that fits their deck.

AI-generated card styles.
I tested male, female and animal references across six styles. Each prompt needed corrections to keep the suits, figures, numbers and layouts consistent.

Product mockups.
I used mockups to show the result before users started editing. The goal was to make the options easier to understand for people without design experience.
The editor.
The editor breaks customisation into steps: upload images, choose a card style and layout, then choose the background and back cover.
The full product flow.
Landing page and style selection.
Uploads, styles, numbers, layouts and previews.
Cart, checkout and order confirmation.
Orders, status updates and emails.
Order confirmation email.
I also designed the email touchpoint after checkout.
What I designed.
